Privacy Policy

Short version: most DocHeron tools never upload your file. Files that do reach our server are deleted right after your download. There are no accounts, no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies, and we never sell data.

Who we are

DocHeron (docheron.com, "we") provides free online PDF tools. Contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

Your files

Tools that run only in your browser

Edit & sign PDF, Fill PDF forms, Merge PDFs, Split, remove & rotate pages, Page numbers & watermark, Images to PDF and Compress images work entirely inside your web browser. Your file is never uploaded to us; we never see it.

Tools that use our server

Compress PDF, PDF to Word, Word to PDF, Scan to searchable PDF, Protect PDF and Unlock PDF need our server. For these:

• Your file travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is processed automatically. No person looks at it.
• The upload and the result are deleted as soon as the result is sent to you.
• A cleanup runs every 5 minutes and deletes anything older than 1 hour, in case a download never finished.
• Passwords you type for Protect or Unlock are used once for that file and are not stored.
• Your files are never used to train AI and are never shared or sold.

Send to email

If you choose Send to email, the finished PDF and the email address you type are sent to our server and passed to our email provider, Brevo, to deliver one email. The PDF is deleted from our server right after sending. Brevo keeps standard delivery records (for example the recipient address and the time sent) as part of its service.

Information we keep

• Usage counts: which tool was used, whether it worked, how long it took and the file size. No file names, no file contents, and no IP address are stored with these counts.
• Chat messages and suggestions: what you write in the chat assistant, and your email address only if you choose to leave it (for example to be told when a tool opens). We use these to answer you and to decide what to build next. They are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Ideas may appear, without your name or email, in the public "You asked, we're building" list.
• IP addresses: used briefly in memory to apply fair-use limits (for example daily limits on server tools and emails). They are not stored in our database.

Payments (paid services, when they open)

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record: it processes your card or wallet, charges any sales tax or VAT and sends your receipt. We never see your card details. From each order we receive the order number, the product, the amount, the currency and your email address. We use your email only to send credit codes, re-send them if you lose them and handle refunds, and we keep order records as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Cookies and storage on your device

• No tracking or advertising cookies and no analytics services.
• Your light/dark theme choice and any signatures you choose to remember are saved only in your own browser (local storage). They never reach us. You can remove saved signatures with the × in the signature window, or by clearing your browser's site data.

Service providers

• Cloudflare delivers and protects the website. It processes technical data such as IP addresses to do so.
• Brevo sends emails (Send to email, credit codes, and replies to messages you send us).
• Lemon Squeezy processes payments for paid services.
• Our website runs on a rented cloud server under our control.

Paid AI services shown as "Opening soon" are not active. Before they open, this policy will be updated to explain exactly how they handle files.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete chat messages, suggestions or your email address at any time by writing to [email protected]. Because we don't keep your files, there is nothing else to delete. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

DocHeron is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change how DocHeron handles data, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
